[Days of Ice is Christchurch’s annual celebration of the city’s unique role as a gateway to Antarctica. The festival brings the icy continent to life with hands-on experiences, inspiring talks, family-friendly activities, and exhibitions across the city. Visitors can meet Antarctic scientists, learn about wildlife and climate research, see films and installations, and even get a taste of life on the ice.

Centred around venues like the International Antarctic Centre and Tūranga, Days of Ice highlights Christchurch’s strong Antarctic connections, blending science, adventure, and fun for all ages.]
