Sun, tunes, sorbet, and one very good beach day
Two Minds started the way all the best things in Christchurch do - a couple of mates with big ideas.
What began as flat parties and small gigs while they were studying at Canterbury Uni has grown into a full festival out at Spencer Beach, built around music, community, and doing things properly with your mates.
Now, four years in, it’s become one of those weekends people lock in early. Three days and two nights of camping, 6 stages tucked through the trees, and a beach that turns into its own little world for the day.
So this year, we teamed up with the crew and brought Rollickin’ to the beach stage.
Saturday, middle of the day, sun out, music rolling - we set up a sorbet station right there on the sand.
Cold scoops, ocean right there, people drifting between the stage and the water.
It just fit.
People were coming straight off the sand, salty, sun-warmed, music still going - grabbing a scoop, laughing with their mates, then heading straight back into it like nothing could touch them. It had that happy, loose summer energy where no one’s checking the time and everything just keeps rolling.
The beach stage was humming, people dancing, lying in the sand, bouncing between the water and the music - and somewhere in the middle of it all, everyone had a scoop in hand.
Big love to the Two Minds crew for having us be part of it.
From uni parties to a full beachside festival… yeah, they’re doing something right.
If you were there, you know 🍦
