Dumplings.$2.Rice has been in Christchurch for over 35 years (just around the corner from our Riccarton caf!), and they’ve never increased the price of their $2 rice. It’s basically a Chch staple now.

They’ve made it through earthquakes, covid, and a full-blown cost of living crisis without changing what they stand for. Keeping the people fed.

Family-owned, Mary (the mum) is behind the food, cooking it all up day after day, and Gum (pictured here) is part of the heartbeat of the place, running front of house and keeping it all moving. Those bags she’s holding? That’s them dropping off a massive feed for our staff at the end of the day. Even now, they’re still looking after the people around them 🧡

So, even though this was an April fools joke, it was an awesome opportunity to shine light on our amazing neighbours and the kindness they bring to the community.
