ONCE IN A LIFETIME ENERGY, SCOOPED
Six60 x Rollickin: This Oneâs a Bit Special
They're playing the first ever concert at the new One NZ Stadium in Christchurch and we wanted to be part of it in a way that actually meant something.
So we made a gelato flavour together and used it to back the Six60 Foundation. Six60 started in a flat in Dunedin. Now theyâre helping the next wave of Kiwi artists do the same.
Six60 Scooped for the public..
The band rolled into our Cashel Street store and jumped behind the counter. No big announcement - just people casually getting served gelato by Six60. There were taste tests, laughs, slightly rogue scooping technique⊠exactly the kind of chaos weâre into.
Then we took it to Dunedin.
We packed up the Kombi van (Alice - yes, sheâs old), loaded it with gelato, and hit the road early. She almost didn't make it - broke down in Timaru - but we got her going again and somehow still rolled into Dunedin bang on time, with a big crowd of happy faces to welcome us!
We pulled up at the 660 Castle Street flat, went inside, hung out with the students, and handed out scoops to everyone there. Cold hands. Loud energy. Good people.
That flat matters.
Back in 2021, Six60 bought it their old student flat and turned it into a creative space with the University of Otago. Now itâs home to scholarship students - young musicians and creatives - who get a place to live and create without the usual pressure. Rentâs covered. Powerâs covered. Theyâve got access to recording spaces, mentorship, and a group of people all trying to do something with it.
Itâs real support. Not just talk.
So for every scoop of this flavour, weâre donating 60c to the foundation - backing the next wave of Aotearoa musicians.
Music, mates, late nights, & random stops that turn into good stories. This is the kinda thing that gets people to a Six60 gig⊠or on a late night Rollickin mission.
Itâs in-store for a limited time. Bring your mates, get a scoop, accidentally get two. You know the drill.
