š¦ SCOOP POLL: The Dead Heat Is Broken⦠AGAIN!
Good afternoon, Christchurch. Welcome to your final Scoop Poll bulletin before election day this Saturday.
Since our last report, Blueberry caught up, David dropped in, and Christchurch delivered a weather plot twist absolutely nobody ordered.
Weāre crossing live to the cabinet.
š„ A tie at the top. Then David enters the cafĆ©.
Just when David Sāmore was getting comfortable, Blueberry Lux caught up. By 30 October, the two front-runners were sitting on 25% EACH.
Two flavours. One podium.
Then David Seymour visited Cashel Street, and his free-scoop hour helped push David Sāmore back to 26%, while Blueberry Lux eased to 24%.
The dead heat was broken. Again. The Scoop Poll has never been this close!!!!!!
šµ Marama arrives. So does the thunderstorm.
Marama Davidson visited New Regent Street that SAME DAY, but Christchurch had prepared a slightly different welcome.
The morning: 26 degrees. Sunshine. Excellent scooping conditions.
By Maramaās arrival at 3pm: a thunderstorm. Frank didn't have an umbrella.
From sunscreen to sideways rain in one afternoon. A strong performance from Christchurchās Department of Keeping Everyone Humble.
The free-scoop visit didnāt deliver a lift for the Greensā flavour. Marama Matcha is now on 6%, compared with 7% on the earlier board.
Our weather correspondent has been asked to explain themselves.
š A little movement further down the cone
Compared with that 30 October midpoint, Kai Reka Kūmara has climbed from 12% to 13%. Quietly digging up another point while everyone watches the front-runners.
Cherry on āOp holds third on 15%, Orange Choc Chippy eases from 11% to 10%, and Allsorts of Winston stays on 5%.
The running order holds. The cabinet remains deliciously unsettled.

š³ļø āItās only one voteā¦ā
History would like to interrupt:
9 votes: Paula Bennettās winning margin in WaitÄkere, 2011. Single digits decided the seat.
18 votes: Helen Whiteās winning margin in Mt Albert, 2023. A small classroomās worth.
36 votes: Roger McClayās winning margin in TaupÅ, 1981. A few flat group chats could cover that.
537 votes: George W. Bushās winning margin in Florida, 2000 ā the state that secured his presidency. Small margin. Huge consequences.
Our Scoop Poll is a bit of fun. Your real vote helps decide who represents you. Donāt leave it sitting in the freezer.
š Find your voting spot
Election day is Saturday 7 November, with voting places open 9amā7pm. You can also vote before Saturday - check your chosen voting placeās opening hours before heading out.
WE VOTED WITH THE CHURCH FLAT - what a brag. Uni life ftw.
šØ Election watch party? Fill the chiller.
Once your voteās sorted, thereās another pressing matter: whatās everyone licking while the results roll in?
The flatmates are assembled. Someoneās become a political expert overnight. Someone else is explaining MMP with the chips.
Youāre on dessert.
Our Chiller Filler deal gets you THREE Party Tubs for $69. Nice. Finally, a figure the group chat can agree on. š
And because choosing flavours can involve its own lengthy negotiations, we can do half-and-half in each tub for no extra cost.
Thatās up to SIX flavours across your three Party Tubs. Build a coalition of favourites, keep rival flavours in separate tubs, or let everyone negotiate directly with a spoon.
Enough choice for the mate following every electorate, the mate asking when the final result comes out, and the mate who came exclusively for dessert.
Grab your Party Tubs from Cashel Street, New Regent Street or Riccarton and get the freezer ready for election night. EVEN BETTER - Pre order through the Rollickin APP and earn love points x
Seven parties. Seven flavours. One scoop = one vote. We remain completely neutral.
Back to you, Christchurch. Bring a spoon. š¦
